Destiny Talbott

Pet Hotel Attendant

Destiny Talbott, a Halifax, VA native, brings a heart full of compassion and a deep-rooted love for animals to her role as a Pet Hotel Attendant at Danville Family Vet. A proud graduate of Halifax County High School (Class of 2023) and Patrick & Henry Community College (Class of 2024), Destiny is driven by the belief that every pet deserves comfort, care, and kindness—especially when they’re away from home.

Destiny’s journey has been shaped by resilience and strong family ties. She lost her father to cancer at age 13—a devastating moment that changed her life. Her father was her best friend, and in the years since, she has worked to honor his memory by growing stronger and pursuing her goals with purpose. Travel softball, which she played from age 6, was a grounding force for her throughout childhood, teaching her discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

Her biggest role models are her mom, Shelly, and her “Mema,” Judy—women she describes as strong, independent, and determined. They’ve inspired her to push forward no matter what life brings, and they continue to be her greatest motivation. Destiny is also incredibly close with her grandparents Mike and Judy Thompson.

With a lifelong love for animals, Destiny chose to turn that passion into a career. Her goal in the Pet Hotel is to create a safe, welcoming environment where both pets and their families feel at ease. She takes pride in forming genuine connections—not just with pets, but with their people too. “I want clients to feel comfortable leaving their furbaby with me,” she says. “And I want the pets to feel like they’re with family.”

Outside of work, Destiny stays active and adventurous. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, riding four-wheelers and horses, hunting, and running dogs. She also runs a creative side business making custom window decals, hoodies, and shirts—a fun way she expresses herself and shares her creativity with others.

Having faced tough times and come through stronger, Destiny knows the value of hard work, heart, and healing. Her personal story, paired with her professional passion, makes her a valuable part of the Danville Family Vet team.
