Blaine Adkerson is a Dry Fork, Virginia native who still calls her hometown home. With a natural love for animals and a compassionate heart, she’s an important part of the Pet Hotel team at Danville Family Vet, where she helps ensure every pet feels safe, loved, and cared for while away from home.
Blaine is a people person who believes in building friendly, trusting relationships with clients. Her goal is to make pet parents feel comfortable and confident leaving their furry family members in her care—and to make sure each pet feels just as comfortable with her.
Blaine is still exploring what field she wants to major in, but one thing is certain—helping others is always at the heart of her path. Her love for animals and people shines through in everything she does.
Blaine’s family means the world to her. She’s the daughter of Tracey and Richard Adkerson and the granddaughter of Shirley and Basil Scearce. Family traditions, like Christmas morning breakfasts followed by opening presents and watching A Christmas Story, hold a special place in her heart. She also treasures memories of camping trips with loved ones and friends.
Blaine’s life has been shaped by both joy and resilience. While in high school, both of her parents were diagnosed with cancer—her mom with breast cancer and her dad with melanoma. The experience meant countless hospital trips to North Carolina, but the family faced every challenge together with strength and optimism. Today, both of her parents are cancer-free, a blessing Blaine never takes for granted. Those difficult years taught her the power of hope and perseverance, lessons she carries with her every day.
When she’s not caring for pets, Blaine enjoys spending time at the lake, riding her jet ski, and surfing. She also loves expressing her creativity by drawing on her iPad in her free time.
