Kamryn Poteat

Pet Hotel Attendant

Kamryn Poteat is originally from Halifax, VA, and now lives in Vernon Hill. Her love for animals started early—she spent much of her childhood outdoors, often taking in stray animals and caring for them as her own. That deep-rooted compassion led her to follow her heart into animal care, and she’s now proud to be part of the Pet Hotel team at Danville Family Vet.

Kamryn originally started school with plans to become an ultrasound technician, but soon realized her true calling was working with animals. With the support of her family, especially her mom, Melissa, who Kamryn calls her biggest role model, she made the switch and has never looked back.

Her personal journey includes overcoming kidney failure at a young age, a challenge that has shaped her into the strong, determined person she is today. Kamryn brings that same strength and care into her work, where she’s dedicated to providing pets with a safe, loving, and comfortable home-away-from-home experience.

Kamryn’s goal is to form kind, trustworthy bonds with each pet and pet parent she meets. She believes every animal deserves not only excellent care but also genuine affection and attention while they’re away from home.

Outside of work, Kamryn enjoys field training (running dogs), spending time with her close-knit family, and operating her own small business where she sells handmade items. Whether she’s crafting something creative or cuddling a guest in the Pet Hotel, Kamryn puts her whole heart into everything she does.

With a caring nature and passion for pets, Kamryn is a valued part of the Danville Family Vet Pet Hotel team, making sure every guest feels at home.
