Originally from North Carolina, Makayla has always had a deep passion for animals. From an early age, she knew she wanted to advocate for those who couldn’t speak for themselves. That drive led her to complete a veterinary assisting course at Piedmont Community College, and she’s currently on her path to becoming a Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA).
Makayla’s role models are her parents, whose work ethic and strength have inspired her to face challenges head-on and pursue her goals with confidence. Their support has shaped her into someone who is dedicated, compassionate, and driven to provide the best possible care for every animal she encounters.
At Danville Family Vet, Makayla aims to build trust with clients by ensuring their pets are treated with the utmost care and compassion. Whether she’s assisting during appointments or comforting a nervous pet, her priority is always making sure each patient feels safe and loved.
Outside of work, Makayla enjoys playing guitar, drawing, reading, and diving into creative experiences. She has a special love for all animals — big and small — and has cared for everything from cows and horses to lizards and hamsters. Her current animal crew includes one dog, three cats, and a flock of chickens.
Makayla is motivated by her family and her own passion to keep learning and growing in the field. She’s excited to continue her journey in veterinary medicine and looks forward to helping pets live their happiest, healthiest lives.
