Veterinary Emergency Treatment (V.E.T.) Fund

The bond between people and their pets is priceless, yet unexpected veterinary emergencies can place families in heartbreaking situations. Established by Dr. Jeff Smith in 2012, the Veterinary Emergency Treatment (V.E.T.) Fund was created with a simple mission: to help ensure financial hardship doesn’t prevent a beloved pet from receiving lifesaving care.

Through the generosity of our community and the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region, the V.E.T. Fund provides financial assistance to qualifying pet owners facing unexpected veterinary emergencies, helping keep pets where they belong—with the families who love them.

Supporting Pets, Families & Our Community

At Danville Family Vet, we believe pets are family. Whether it’s a child’s first puppy or a senior’s lifelong companion, the human-animal bond brings comfort, joy, and unconditional love. The V.E.T. Fund reflects our commitment to strengthening that bond by helping families through difficult times when emergency veterinary care is needed most.

If you’d like to support this mission, donations can be made through the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region. Please designate your gift to the Veterinary Emergency Treatment (V.E.T.) Fund so your contribution directly supports pets and families in our community.
