Danville Family Vet opened the doors to their new practice in January 2018 after moving from the Mount Hermon area where they served the community for 25 years. The dedicated team at the veterinary practice has been excelling in their field and has received numerous certifications in their industry.

Danville Family Vet was recently accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). This is an achievement held by less than 15% of the small animal veterinary practices in the United States. Unlike human hospitals, not all animal hospitals are required to be accredited. Accredited hospitals voluntarily submit to evaluation on approximately 900 quality standards that go above and beyond basic state regulations. At AAHA accredited practices, pet owners can expect to receive the highest quality care from well-trained, professional veterinary teams.

Danville Family Vet has recently implemented the Cat Friendly Practice Program pioneered by The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). Cat Friendly Practices like Danville Family Vet provide specialize care and handling to alleviate anxiety in cats. The new building is designed specifically for the comfort of cats and team member take additional training in reading cat body language and handling of cats. “We have evaluated every aspect of the practice from the perspective of the cat and we have been certified as a Gold level Cat Friendly Practice” –Dr. Jeff Smith
